This is the second time in two days that I've been disappointed to learn that stories we all nod along to worryingly are misleading at best. Yesterday I learned that The Great Pacific Garbage Patch is not what most of us think it is: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IglBJ62Sv3Q&t=619s
Each time we discover we are being misled, a small amount of trust in anything we read or hear is lost. I suspect trust has a long way to fall still, and it will be very slow and difficult to rebuild.
(It was wonderful to hear your voice asynchronously again, Brad!)
THANKS for reading The Dispatch. I'm interested to learn about the Garbage Patch. I don't think that trust is eroding in quite the way you do: it has ALWAYS been at a premium. What we're seeing is a second order effect of media tribalism. Best, BB
