I went back and read your piece on Overfocusing & Immersion. Thank you for reposting it. Very interesting discussion about one of my favorite songs (I sang it as a lullaby to my grands when they were younger) and the concept of “over focusing”. In such circumstances, I try to look for the “both/and” in a situation to get away from the “either/or” duality with which we always seem to be faced. I like to think of it as improvising in a jazz band -- they feed off each other as the same song changes from night to night.
