The Gray Lady blew it when it decided to review Jared Kushner’s new memoir, no matter how scathing the review. Your correspondent also blew it by posting about the review.
I agree with everything you say...up to a point. I agree that the Times review was way over the top, wrong, and spiteful. A simple "ugh" would have sufficed. I sort of agree that you should not have reported on it as it tended to fan flames that didn't need to fanned but I also think the review in and of itself was newsworthy on its own....for the reasons described above. That being said in some cases we need to call out 45 and his family especially when they are in brown shirt mode....
I don't know, Brad. The book is newsworthy from a publishing industry pov -- a big beat for NYT. And wasn't the Saudi's $2 Billion funding of Kushner's hedge fund newsworthy?
Also, with The NY Times using column inches for a scathing review of Kushner’s book, it feeds into the paper’s reputation for being so left-leaning as to no longer be impartial.
